SEO Olympics
Stephan Good has posted a plea on Change For Good for SEO’s to put their powers to good use.
SEO competitions are littered across the internet with companies and practitioners competing to see who can reach the number one ranking for a specific word or phrase. The most commonly known of these competitions will be the “negritude ultramarine” one hosted by DarkBlue SEO Challenge.
In a bid to use the SEO community’s powers for a greater good Stephan Good is proposing that the industry optimise a Tibet-related site for the keyword “Olympics”. The purpose of the exercise being to highlight the fact that this years Olympic Games host, China, is responsible for the oppression of the Tibetan people. Although we have witnessed some news coverage of the riots and activism taken place during the lighting of the torch the Chinese government has imposed a media blackout. By optimising websites such as FreeTibet.org or Save Tibet we will be creating a form of peaceful protest and showing the support of the SEO industry.
